What is the history of Beaverbrook and how did Kanata begin?

Short answer

Beaverbrook is the first and oldest residential neighbourhood in Kanata. It was farmland in March Township until the 1960s, when developer Bill Teron began a planned Garden City community, starting with Tiffany Crescent in 1964.

As of · Updated

Wikipedia says the City of Kanata was incorporated in 1978, taking its name from the neighbourhood after a referendum. Beaverbrook is named after Max Aitken, Lord Beaverbrook.
